If you are a person having multiple mobile devices to connect the internet, you are in the right place. These days nobody is without a 4G internet connection and when speaking about 4G, Jio 4G needs no introduction.
Starting a revolution in the 4G industry, Jio still dominates the 4G spectrum in the Indian internet market.
It is no surprise that they did release the handy, classy rather sexy Wi-Fi device.
Let’s dig into the superfast JioFi 4G Hotspot Wi-Fi Data Device.
Sounds fun… so how fast is it actually?
There isn’t a definite answer, as your working of your 4Gdepends on things like…
- The mobile device you’re using
- How far you are from a 4G mast
- The number of people connected on the network
Claims given by Jio. (Explanantions)
1.TRUE 4G SPEED
Enjoy true download speed up to 150 Mbps and an upload speed of up to 50 Mbps.
I am not sure what they actually mean by that statement,… I mean I don’t think you will get 150Mbps, because Jio’s 4G network humbly registered an average download speed of 18.8 megabits per second (Mbps), while Jio’s close rival Airtel network clocked an edging speed of 9.5 Mbps according to Economic Times India.
So I wouldn’t trust Jio’s claim of 150Mbps, but you might experience that kind of speed for a second or so occasionally.
Interestingly though Jio continued to dominate average 4G download speed chart, beating its close daring rival Airtel with almost double the data speed, according to a report by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) for January for 2019.
4G FEATURES ON 2G/3G SMARTPHONES
Access 4G data and download Jio4GVoice app on your 2G/3G smartphones to make HD voice calls, with Jio SIM in your JioFi
This is one of my favorite features. It is just amazing to use 4G speed on 2G/3G smartphone when it was impossible earlier. When Jio first released her 4G sims, I was very upset to have a handset that couldn’t support a 4G sim.
A big thanks to JioFi from the lower-end Smartphone users.
VIDEO AND HD VOICE CALLS
Have fun with Video and Voice calls, send SMS and set up even Audio & Video conference calls with the Jio4GVoice app.
In my very personal opinion, I don’t think that Jio should make this claim because it is obvious that we would be able to make those calls once you get a 4G connection from a WiFi device. So this feature is particularly the feature of the Jio4GVoice App rather than the feature of JioFi.
But then it is something to be given special consideration if you don’t have a smartphone that doesn’t 4G SIM but you get this opportunity.
CONNECT AND SHARE
Can connect up to10 Wi-Fi enabled devices ( Laptops, Tablets and even Smart TV and obviously smartphone). JioFi allows to connect up to 32 devices.
This is THE feature that makes the WiFi device powerful, you will be able to connect multiple varying devices to a single WiFI ( which also means you are connecting to a single sim).
This is an exceptional BONUS when you have multiple devices at home to connect and also multiple devices at your office place or other workplaces to connect to the internet. Just one Jio sim and a single JioFi does the job of almost 15-20 Jio SIM cards.
Best-in-class battery (2300mAh) supports 6 hours of INTERNET surf time.
Yup, unlike the WiFi router that could be connected to the Mains, JioFi needs to be charged.
This is a downside but every mobile or handy device needs to be charged, it is obvious, but the more important question is how long will the charge stay for your surfing?
Will cover up that part especially in the bottom of this article.
ON THE GO DEVICE
Sleek JioFi to remain connected to your digital world, on the go.
True. True. True. I explained about this in the above sections, guess I’ll avoid any more jargon.

In India, SAR value for mobile devices is set at a maximum of 1.6 W/kg. So don’t worry, your JioFi is safe, but even though please avoid keeping it near your head, hips, spine, etc. It is always better to be on the good side of safety. You should definitely see the safety precautions to be taken in the user manual of the device.
I would like to summarize for you what most people had to say in their reviews.
Talking about the pros, most of the people love the speed if they have a good Jio tower nearby but in certain areas where there are a multiple local users, speed is bit of an issue but as we are talking about especially the JioFI, it offers good enough speed even when more than 3 devices are connected.
It is a boon to be able to call through Jio4Gvoice app even though your phone might not support 2G/3G. You can also view the daily data on the Jio app so that you don’t go hungry on the net when you need it, curious buddy.
Talking about the value of the price, this device has kept the reputation of Jio’s low-cost high-quality strategy. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed for value in price.
So in a nutshell
- Reasonable high-speed internet
2.Good speed internet even though more than 3 devices are connected at a time.
3. Jio Net Plans have good value for money.
4. The ability to call through Jio4g app.
5. Can track daily net usage.
6. The Jio4G app enables incoming calls and SMS without SIM card…
Most people are worried about the considerable amount of time required to charge the battery. It is a bit slow, but the battery capacity is not very good but (not more than 5 hrs of continuous usage after being fully charged )but good enough, so I would recommend you to keep it off when you really don’t want it, that way you can save up the battery time.
You should note that you will get a battery backup up to 5 hours only even if the company claims to give you 8 hours of battery. Please remove the battery if using with charger ON for long periods.
People are finding it very comfortable to use multiple devices at a time but the RANGE is an issue. The range is not more than 8m and as you move your mobile device from JioFI the speed reduces to 40-50%. To solve this problem I would recommend you to find a sweet spot before you sit down to surf the net, I mean, find that ideal spot in your room from which all of your working devices are within a 3m diameter.
The other problem is that Internet disconnects occasionally and there is a need to restart the device multiple times. Hmm.. that is an issue, but then I would recommend you to find that sweet spot as I mentioned earlier and give some time for JioFi to reconnect to the internet by itself. I mean give it a little time to heal itself. If that doesn’t work, please restart JioFi.
I would advise you to keep JioFi password protected at all times because you don’t want any irritating neighbor to stick a finger in your pot ( I mean the more the number of people working on your JioFi the more slower it gets)
Let me make something very clear for you, JioFi is a low costing device specially made for Indians and therefore the affordable price tag.
So in a nutshell
1. WiFi range is a small issue beyond 3m from JioFI.
2. If you are traveling, you can experience a bit of a drop on the internet.
3. Battery capacity is only 4-5 hours for a continuous charge.
